This Saxon sword is based closely on an excavated sword held in the British Museum and recovered from a 6/7thC graveyard in Buckland, near Dover. Accession number 1108.124
The original sword had a pattern welded blade with gilded silver hilt fittings. This reproduction has all the hilt components made separately and assembled as they should be. At this price the sword will be supplied with a mono steel blade.
The sword can be supplied with a pattern welded blade from Owen Bush and you will find a separate listing for this on my swords page. The hilt components can be either polished bronze or gold plated.
Scabbard not included with sword. Please contact us if you wish to order a scabbard too.
