Breughel Messer 2-short sword with or without Eating set

In many of Breughels’ paintings you see fairly low status men carrying short messers often with a side ring and a knuckle bow.  This form of short sword was popular throughout the 16thC.

They were often fairly crude and are shown slung from a baldric. Clearly they are working items and not just for show and the owners give the impression they were used as tools as much weapons.

Please note, fuller and eating set are extra. Please enquire.
