16th Century Swiss German Rugger with spalted Box wood grip - SOLD

Ruggers were a typically German working and fighting knife from the late 15th and early to mid 16thC. 

The knife has a spalted box wood grip with steel nagel, the grips are spalted box wood showing an extraordinary grain and fixed with latten (brass) pins.

The sheath is made from double layer veg tan leather and is decorated with carved border runners on each side and finished with a bronze chape.
