This Medieval Baselard dagger is closely based on X297, an example in The Royal Armouries. It has a very pronounced capital I section hilt, single fuller, boxwood grips with brass rivets and a double layer veg tan sheath finished with a bronze chape. This iconic dagger, dated around 1400 is an example of the English and Italian style of Baselard, made quite differently to the Swiss/German style. Long and slender and suitable for either a civilian or soldier.
