French/German mid 15thC ebony Rondel - IN STOCK

This distinctive rondel is made from a composite of medieval pieces and comes together to form a stunning piece that will always get noticed. The almost delicate hollow steel rondel are fabricated to reduce weight, the grip is carved ebony cut into a ‘pineapple’ type texture and each nobble is fitted with a bronze pin.

The blade is a deeply hollow ground asymmetric profile starting 5 sided and ending with a strong diamond section and a needle sharp tip and the blade is housed in a double layer naturally tanned leather sheath in red with black highlights and a period appropriate bronze chape.
