The sword is based very accurately on A479 from the Wallace Collection, which I measured and handled personally for the project.
The sword is very distinctive and is probably a 19thC composite, but of a early 16thC German style and features a very heavily hollow ground blade.
There is no doubt this is a chunky long or bastard sword, but because of the relatively short blade and aggressive hollow grinding, it is surprisingly mobile in the hand.
Comes complete with a leather covered poplar wood scabbard, with carved decoration and period appropriate fabricated steel and chape and mouth with pounced and perforated decoration, bold ribbed risers and a heavily studded and embossed belt. Will fit waists from 32 to 43" - 81cm - 109cm
