15thC Central European war crossbow

This medieval crossbow is typical of Central and Western European war crossbows, with its distinctive shape and use of decoration, they make striking weapons. The style was used throughout the whole of the 15thC and used composite bows.  This bow uses a steel bow clad to look like a composite.

These crossbows usually used a cranequin to span them but they work equally well with the more economic goats foot lever.

The medieval crossbow can be supplied from 300lbs to 650lbs  (500lbs maximum for goats foot lever).
