Viking battle axe

This is a stunning and authentic reproduction of a Viking battle axe made by a very skilled friend.  These were devastating weapons that were used to great effect against the Saxons during the invasions of the 8th to 11thC.

The body is mild steel and the medium carbon edge is forge welded on to create that classic thickening of the blade edge, but leaving the body thin and light for quick movements that belie the size.

The head is mounted on a hand planed ash shaft that is currently over length, but can be cut to you requirements - let us know how long you would like it.

Head depth (back of eye to edge) 19cm/7.5"

Edge length 18cm/7"

Please note anything over 1.2m/4' will have £70 higher shipping charges due to courier costs.
