Medieval round topped kite shield, the classic shield of the 11th and 12thC
This medieval kite shield is constructed from plywood, gently curved, faced inside and out with bonded linen and finished in gesso and lime white paint. The shield is edged with a nailed rawhide rim.
The shield is harnessed with a quilted linen arm pad and has Veg tan leather arms straps and guige strap.
