High status Bauernwehr with 3 by-knives and pricker in a highly tooled and decorated leather sheath. Early to Mid 16thC based on a piece shown in 'The First Book of Fashion".
The main knife has steel bolsters and nagel which is lined with a brass ring, antler and horn scales and a double fullered blade. 3 by-knives all with incised steel bolsters. All 4 knives come with antler grips and filework to the spine. Every surface of the black leather sheath is decorated with caving incising or stamping. Would suit a very rich merchant or nobleman.
