Early 16thC German hexagonal quillon dagger
Based on a Metropolitan Museum example. Daggers with 'half a guard' and very slender grips were popular with Landsknechts and are typically German and dated around 1510-1540
Double layer veg tan sheath, dual coloured in red and black with incised and stamped decoration, finished with a bronze chape and a hemp suspension cord.
Double edged with a 25cm blade
