Henry VIII Sabre

This stunning renaissance sword is a close reproduction of the piece (ix634) in the Royal Armouries, which I measured and handled personally for the project.

This very striking sword has a guard that is formed to mimic a serpent beast and is decorated on every surface.  The grip is covered in a wine red duping silk and the blade is a monster, with a fuller, sabre grind and a taper that starts at 8mm thick and drops quickly to 5.5mm - it may be big, but not cumbersome.  It comes with a leather covered poplar scabbard and bronze chape. Truly fit for a king.

Grip length – 20cm/8"
Blade length – 99cm/39"

Overall length – 122cm/4'
COP – 19cm/7.5"

Overall weight 1540g/3.4lbs
