Gold and ebony Burgundian rondel. Based on a piece in the Bargello Museum in Florence, Italy. Late 15thC French or Italian. The grip is constructed of 11 pieces of horn, ebony, and gilded bronze to create a unique arrangement with cutouts, through the grip showing the gilded bronze tube that surrounds the tang inside.
Fitted to a massively strong single edged blade with reinforced tip. Sits in a single layer, red moulded, vegtan leather sheath with bronze chape.
