Early 16thC hexagonal bronze hilted quillon dagger SOLD

Based on a an example in the Metropolitan Museum.  Daggers with 'half a guard' and very slender grips were popular with Landsknechts and are typically German from around 1510-1540

Double edged with a 25cm blade, double layer veg tan leather with incised decoration and hemp suspension cord.  Grip is horn and antler.
