Mid 15thC French Castillion Dagger

Mid 15thC French Castillion Dagger. A massively powerful mid 15thC quillon dagger. Based on a piece that was found with swords recovered after the Battle of Castillion and is as robust as a dagger can be. Faceted wheel pommel, textured cord-bound leather grip and strong, downturned guard are fitted to a 15mm thick double-edged, diamond blade.  Definitely built more for staying than cutting.  Double layer black, vegtan sheath with incised and stamped decoration to front and rear and bronze chape.

Blade length: 41cm/16"

Grip length: 8.5cm/3.25"

Overall length: 54cm/21"
