This Norman medieval kite shield is constructed from 12mm plywood and has a nailed rawhide edge. Linen canvas inside and out with gesso and then a lime white paint.
The shield has a stuffed linen arm pad and leather straps and hand raised iron boss. 120cm high, gently curved.
